DIY:Charms bag charm

As promised, I'm back from my trip so here's the tutorial on the bag charm. My previous bag charm was cute and colourful so this time, it will be less colours and those who prefer earthy tones. Let's get started!
Things you need: String
                             Wooden Pegs
                             Jump rings
                             Charms
                             Bag hook
                             Pliers

Fr the first part, follow the instructions from my Cabochon bag charm tutorial. Cut the length that you want your bag charm to be times two.
However, for this charm, you will need four long string and one short string.
Tie the strings together like so. Remember to bend the long strings into half to tie to create the hook.
Split the strings to three parts with three strings in each  part.
Braid each part like so and hold the end with a wooden peg.
And it should look like this.
After you are done braiding each part, braid all of them together....
...and tie a knot.
Get your charms ready by adding a jump ring to each of them.
Attach the charm to the string using the jump ring.
It should look like this.
Add the bag hook to the top.
Add a charm to the side hook.
And you are done!

This bag charm is really easy to do and looks great on your bag. Simple and nice for those who wants to accessories their bag but nothing too extravagant. Have Fun!!

DIY:Cabochon bag charm

I'm going to show you how to make this really cute bag charm using cabochons. It's a great accessory to for your bag. It's super easy to do and can be great presents as well. Let's get started!
Things you need: Glue gun
                             Cabochons (From Sophie and Toffee)
Strings (One thick and one thin
                             Pilers
                             Bag hook
                             Super glue
                             Wire
                             Pegs
                             Scissors
Taking the thicker string, measure how long you want your bag charm to be. If you want it to be 13 cm long, you have to measure your string to 26 cm (2 times the length). Do not cut the string yet.
At 26 cm, make a small loop like this.
Cut the string at where the end is. The string that you cut should be 52 cm long.

Get the thinner string and cut one of the string at 52cm and the other at 26 cm as seen in the picture.
You have to cut 3 thick string of the same length and two thin ones at 52 and 26 cm.

Put all the strings together land tie a loop so it looks like the picture (Ginseng?). Divide the strings into three parts. Each part has to have three strings.
Braid each part like in the picture. Use a peg to hold the ends.
When you are done braiding all parts, It should look like this.
Taking the light brown strings, twist it like so.
Using the dark brown string, wrap it around the light brown strings.
Use one peg and hold it altogether.
Cut a small piece of light brown string, and tie it at the end to secure it.
Tie it around a few times going back and forth and cut the remaining ends away.
Take the super glue and dap it around the knot a few times to secure it.
And you are done with the base. Now its time to make it look cute!
Place your cabochons around and plan where you want to place them on the string. I'm using cabochons from Sophie and toffee. They offer a wide variety of cabochons as well as many other crafts supplies.
Use the glue gun to glue these cabochons down!
Half way done!
After you are done, It should look light this make sure to check they are fully glued down cause you don't want them dropping!
At top hoops, there will be at least three hoops and we don't need so many. so seperate the three hoops. Cut off the two ends leaving only the one in the center
Like so.
Take the bag hook and open the ring attacted to it.
Insert in like so. We are now going to add something to the extra hook at the side.
Take a wire and using the piler, create a small circle.
Like so.
Using another piler with a flat tip, roll on the circle.
And it should look like this.
Bent in the top part and the wire should look like a 'S' shape.
Attach this to the back of a cabochon using a glue gun.
Hook it on to the extra hook.
And you are done!
Hook this on to your bag and it immediatly brings colour to your bag. Don't worry about it being messy or anything cause this is handmade.

I will be having another turorial up soon on this bag charm It's something similar but not to cutesy for those who prefer simple ones.

I also made a facebook page so please do like and get regular updates and pictures on what I will be doing! Cause my link is so long and hard to remember. So like the page and you won't forget. Hehe :) Facebook page.

DIY:V bracelet

I'm going to show you how to do this V bracelet. I'm calling it V bracelets cause it looks like there are many V's on the bracelet. I will be doing this differently. Instead of using cords like the ones in the picture, I will be using threads. Let's get started!
Things you need: Threads (Two colours)
                              Chain
                              Pincer clasp
                              Jump rings
                              Pliers
First off you will want to measure the length of the chain and make sure its fits you. I suggest cutting it slightly bigger so it won't be too tight and it will be easier for you when you have to wear it yourself.
Add on the clasp using the pliers and the jump ring.

Cut four equal lengths of one colour thread. The length of the thread has to be around two and a half times the length of your chain. Note: If you only want to use one colour then the thread has to be four times the length of the chain.
Do the same for the other colour and place them together.
Tie a knot like this. (Skip this part if your are only using one colour.)
Wrap the ends with scotch tape so it will be easier when you thread it through the chain.
Start of with the purple thread being thread in the purple thread will then have to be on top the pink thread. Thread on the right has to be on top the thread on the left.

Then thread to pink thread from below the chain into the same hole as the purple thread.
Thereafter, thread the pink thread through the hole again from the bottom. This whole process will be threading from the bottom.
Remember the right thread has to be on top the left thread. Thread the purple thread through the same hole as the pink thread.
Continue doing threading until the end and the and knot.
See how I left one hoop and tied the knot in the centre.
 Cut off the excess string.
Now you are done. Both is done using the same method only different materials. But they both have a different look.
If you want to do the dark blue one, just get this cord instead. If you are from Singapore, you can get this at Chinatown at a place called Shino beads for 40 cents.
To add on to this bracelet, I added a small charm to it. Both styles are equally nice. Be creative with the colour. you can us more than two colours. All you have to do is cut different colour threads and just make sure you have to same number of threads at both sides to thread.
