Mini macarons tutorial (Polymer clay)

Today's tutorial will be on mini macarons. I love love how macarons look and taste, so it no doubt that I have to make them. I'm not too good at baking so I can only make them using clay. The macarons are small but simple to make and you only need one tool. Let's get started!

Things you need:
-One coloured clay (The colour you want your macarons to be)
-White clay
-A needle tool
-An oven
The first step is to create two small balls from the coloured clay (I'm using pastel pink). Make sure both are as even as possible. The sizes of the ball depends on how big you want your macarons to be.
Next lightly press the ball down to create a flat circle.
Which should look like this. Don't make it too flat.
Use the side of the needle tool to press the sides down lightly.
It should have a little dent like this. Do this step all around the side of the clay.
The clay should now look like it has been divided into two.
After you have formed a straight line around the side of the clay, use the needle tool and poke the bottom half of the clay. Lightly poke and use circular motions to create look of the macaron after it has been baked.
There should be little small holes but they cannot be too deep.

And you're done with one side of the macaron. Now just repeat the same steps for the other side.
You should have two sides now!
Next, take a small piece of white clay. This will be a filling for the macaron.
Press it  down lightly and it should be the same size as your macaron.
Put them on top of one another.
For the last step, lightly press them down together. Look at it as you press and you will slowly see it taking the form of a macaron!
Finally, bake it and your done!
Put them in little jars and it looks really cute. This is really simple to make and you can make it in any colour you want. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Good luck!

DIY:Braided charms necklace

Hello! It's been a while. I haven't been able to post tutorials lately as frequently as I want because by the time I reach home from work I'm totally shagged and my body refuses to separate from my bed. I haven't been able to get any rest or even my lunch break because I have to take the classes for the whole day.

Anyway, I'm back with a super easy and great necklace tutorial. You can do this as long as you can braid.
This necklace is great for everyday wear and match your outfits easily. Let's get started!

Time: 15 mins
Things you need:
-Pilers
-3 different strings of different tones (Two thin, one thick)
-Jump rings
-Hook
-One charm
-Wire
-Clasp
First off, get the two different brown sting and cut three each of the same length. Be sure to measure around you neck first and cut around 10 to 15 cm more of the original length cause you will be braiding and adding the clasp at the end. Excess string can be cut away so better to be save than sorry. Cut only one of the thick string the same length as the others.
This is the clasp we will be using to hold the string together.
Put the string together and secure them.
Spilt the three different string and braid the two brown strings separately.
After braiding the two brown string, braid all of them together.
Secure the ends together with the same clasp. Do remember to measure if it is the correct length before cutting the excess string away. Add the hook at the end using the jump ring.
Take the charm that you have chosen. As mine does not have a hook, I use wire to attach it to the chain. Feel free to use  a jump ring if your jump has hooks.
Attach the charm to the necklace.
Twist the excess wire around and secure it tight. Ensure that the ends are not poking out.
And we are done!

Hopefully this tutorial was easy to do. Feel free to use ribbon and sewing thread if you can't find some of the materials. The necklace will also turn out thicker. Use more strings to make the necklace thicker.

You can also use charms from old necklaces. Although I added beads in the materials, I decided not to use them as I liked how it looked already. Pardon the small pictures cause I can't enlarge it as the bar isn't there for me to do so.

I'll be out tomorrow in an adventure to create a terrarium. Will blog about my adventure when I'm done. Till then!

DIY: Mysterious Bridge necklace

I'm finally back with a tutorial and this time it is a necklace. I thought about this idea quite long ago and did a rough sketch on it. I didn't have the materials at that time so I was afraid that I might forget what I wanted to do. True enough, I had to refer back to my drawing when doing this necklace. Enough rambling this is what I'm going to show you what we will be doing today.
This necklace is simple to do but requires various steps so patience is necessary for this project. Take breaks if you get tired.
Things you need:
-Pliers (The three kind as you can see)
-Three different chains (Two different gold chains, one black chain)
-Black flat string
-Silver or white seed beads
-Black wire
-Jump rings
-Gold clasps
-Gold ring
-Super glue

Time: 1 hour or more
First up, get the black wire and create a hoop like above. This is to create the centre part of the necklace.
Put in ten seed beads.
Close it up by creating another ring at the end. Make about 18 of these.
The chain that you cut should be able to hold the 18 seed beads sticks. Each stick must be attach to one ring on the chain. thus your chain has to be 18 ring long. Cut two of the same length.
Get the black string and weave through the chain.
Bend the sting at the end of the chain and put some super glue to keep it down. Do this to both ends.
Using the seed bead stick, attach it it to one of the chain.
Slowly attach each stick to the chain.
Get the lower chain do the same as the one on the top.
After you are done with the top, get the black chain and measure how long you want the chain at the bottom to dangle. Attach the black chain to the gold chain using the jump ring.
The length of the chain should shorten gradually as it moves to the side.

This is how the main piece should look like.
Using the other gold chain, attach it to each side. Measure how long you want your necklace to be before doing any cutting.
Attach the gold clasp and the ring at the end.
And you're done!

This necklace is suitable for formal events and would look great on white dress.Tell me, how and when you will wear this necklace.

DIY:Molecule necklace

Hey all, I just came back from my holiday and spent quite a bit cause they were having a sale! But I'm finally back and with a new DIY post so read on!

I was surfing the net for different pictures on accessories and chanced upon this necklace. So I thought "I have to do this." Since I will be doing the necklace why not do a post on how to do this awesome necklace. I went down to Chinatown to get what I need to start on this necklace.
This necklaces are called molecule necklace cause of all the hoops. If you search online, you can actually find more designs.
Let's get started!

Time: 1 hour
Things needed: Hoop beads
                         Pliers
                         Chain (1 Meter)
                         Jump rings (2)
                         Lobster clasp (1)
                         Thin wire (any colour)
Take two hoops and put them together.
Using the wire, start to twine it around the two hoops as shown in the picture.
After you have twine the wire around horizontally for a few rounds, using the same wire, move it vertically.
Using the pliers, pull the wire to secure it. cut of the excess wire and use the pliers to press it done cause you don't want to get scratched by wires protruding out.
The wire has to form a cross to hold the two hoops together.
Be sure to attach all the places that the hoops touch each other with the wire.
Try arranging the hoops as you go along so you have a picture of how you want the necklace to be. After you are pleased with the design, attach them with the wire.
When you are done attaching the hoops, it is now time to attach the chain. Measure how long you want the necklace to be and attach the both ends using a wire. (Where the arrow points.)
To attach the chain to the hoop, use the wire and hoop it onto the chain.
Twirl the shorter part of the wire around the longer side.
Using the longer wire, twine it around the hoop a few times.
Twine the wire around the middle wire between the hoop and the chain to secure it. Cut of the excess wire. Do these few steps for the other side of the chain.
Add a lobster clasp on one side of the chain and a jump ring at the other side of the chain.
And you are done!
Where this necklace with a plain top since the necklace has colours on it.

I hope you guys enjoy this and do leave a comment on what you think. I will be be posting another post on things that I have been working on recently. Have Fun!
